8/22/2012 8:05:00 PMHey Kev, when were you at Coal? I was just up there on this past Saturday. Took my daughter for a little hike. Stopped in at Coal. Only through maybe 10 casts, but hooked up once. You could see fish. That one camp spot directly in from the parking, is DANG nice.
Wondering if you ever have done the hike in at the end of Coal lake road? It is the trailhead to Independance lake. 3/4 mile. 20 min. Some nice fish in there in past years, def. bigger than Coal brookies. Also... kind of cool, but this time I found the trailhead to "Pass" lake. This is a little lake that is only 0.5 miles from Coal lake road. The trail head is 275 paces from the Outhouse at Coal lake parking. Just walk up the road, look carefully where there is a slight widening in the road for one vehicle parking. Very short hike,,,, but the horseflies got my daughter pissed off, and we had to turn around. Think of this lake, in that I don't think anybody really knows about it. Nice!
