Woke up early Sunday to hit Cottage Lake. I got there at about 7:05. It was raining when I got there but, that doesn't really matter to me. Not so many fisher people 'cause of the rain. Picked a spot in the middle of the dock and tied on a slip sinker rig with a 4 foot leader and a size 8 hook with florescent orange garlic power eggs. I casted out 25 yards or so. Got one fish off that at about 7:15. It was a 10" Cutthroat. Released safely, just because I like cutts. 5 minutes later I hooked a an 11" cutt. Released that one safely too. Got slow after a while but I managed to hook a nice 13" Cutthroat. After that I figured out these were stockers so I decided to keep it. It got really slow after that, with bites only every half hour or so. Figured out the trick to catching more trout there is a 6' leader and casting as far as you can. After I tied on a longer leader I got action here and there, limiting out by 10:45. Just waited for my dad to catch his limit but he never did. I guess it was a slow day for stocker because I was 1 of about 5 fishermen that limited out. Maybe it was because we were the only ones there that knew what we were doing.
Regards, Chris.
