5/5/2013 8:24:00 AMSounds like a nice outing despite the wind. Those Rapalas can be killers. Whenever someone at the launch asks me what I caught my trout on and I show them they say "Really?!"

Took my toon out for its maiden voyage. It was pretty windy most of the day, so it was a struggle to keep the pontoon from blowing across the lake. But, I did get quite a few fish on deck! I lost 3 while netting, I'm still trying to get the hang of the net and handling the pole all at once. The trout were LOVING the Rapala floating minnow 1.5 inch rainbow color. I just tugged it along behind me as I rowed across the lake. They loved it so much that over the course of the day they were collectively able to strip the rear hook right off! Luckily I had some spare tiny treble hooks.
All in all, loving the pontoon! I ended up only bringing two fish home for dinner, but it was plenty!
