Interesting day for sure, but after a week of unsettled weather, that was expected. We had intermittent clouds, calm to very low winds, a high air temperature of mid 70s.

I caught a 9", 12.5", 14.5", 14.75", 15" and 16" LMB. I also lost one that I did not see. All fish were fat and healthy.

The water temperature started out at 60.5 degrees and ended the day at 65.5 degrees. At day break the water was crystal clear but by mid day, especially on the down wind side of the lake, the algae had turned the water green, with the dying algae turning a blue green. At one time, the wind was mixing the algae in and it was so thick that it was messing with my locater. Still, this is quite normal for Sprague.

More will be found in the forum, but in short, the key was to cover a lot of water. Slow fishing did not work for me on Saturday.

I did catch one 19" rainbow and it was also quite healthy. I also caught a sculpin that was about 6" long. And yes, it was very healthy. I did not see any crappie and I saw zero bluegill. Yes, I did fish for gills for quite some time and had a rod set up to hit likely spots........ no signs at all. With the water temperature above 60 degrees at night and with the big old full moon, the gills should be on the beds.... no signs.
