I don't know what Ilvlakecassidy's secret is, but we got skunked! Went out about 9am and threw worms on leadheads, maggots on leadheads, tube jigs, all on top/bottom for crappie/perch, then went to rooster tails, crankbaits, etc. to see if we could hook into a bow. Again, not even a nibble. We stayed out until about noon and then we called it a day. It was beautiful out though, and it sure made us appreciate having a boat.

I use Leadhead jigs tipped with nightcrawler. about 100-150 yards straight out from the launch is usually where I start marking the perch & Crappie. I flip the bail on my reel and let the jig sink to the bottom, then retrieve it back up a foot off the bottom, and slowly bounce the jig. without a ultralight action rod, you may be getting hits and not even know it. There still hittin really soft. Im using my 4' ultralight uglystick, and that seems to do the trick for me. I pull on average 8-10 perch or crappie every time I fish Cassidy.

Tight Lines!
