Interesting day... Had the pleasure of 1st time fishing with JonB. Started off fishing a Kokanee derby at another lake, we fished it hard, but came up with only 1 solid out of the clip take down. That was nice because I use the large Scotty salmon clips, and kokes and typical stocker trout don't usually take it out of the clip.
We left there, and decided to hit Lake Meridian in search of Kokes.

Windy, rainy, sunny, rainy, etc. Both of our 1st times fishing Lake Meridian. Kind of nice in that the weather border line sucked, and therefor no jet skiers, etc. 3-4 other boats on the lake, and 3-4 dock anglers. We started out fishing Kokanee wedding rings, and Cha Cha hootchies, pink fake maggots,, with sling blades dodgers, or kokanee colored dodgers. Nothing happening with that. I put on a flatfish, silver/blue, no dodger. At some point we started connecting with fish. Picked up to stocker trout about 11", lost a couple other fish. Picked up a very small Koke.
A few lost fish short from the boat side, and a few drive bys. I think most of the missed fish, or lost boat side fish were prob. kokes, as they have such soft mouths.

Kind of salvaged the day from a rough start on the other lake. Enjoyed fishing two new lakes and hanging out with another WALAKES.COM member. Always great to share fishing holes/stories with similar like minded people.

I found Lake Meridian to be kind of a strange lake. I suppose I fish a lot of lakes that are more out of the urban area, but Lake Meridian looked on the sonar to be like a bath tub. I saw absolutely no structure in the main lake area, flat bottom, both ends of lake have a rise/hill, but no real large boulder clusters, or downed trees, etc.
We marked almost all fish in the N. end of the lake. 30' of water, and fish hitting at about 15'.

Its a bit rough out there. I had great success in April when all the fish were feeding on the surface. Ever since the warm weather the bite is whacky.
