I arrived at Bosworth at 8:00 am, overcast skies, no rain and very light wind. At first I loaded all my gear onto the raft. I casted an orange spider pattern with my fly rod, trolled it to the left, then I casted a bumblebug with my spinning set up to the right, 3 minutes in the fly rod bends, so I set the hook and pinned the rod between my legs, reeled up the spinning set up, put it out of the way, then I reeled the fish in. I decided at that point to stop using the spinning gear altogether, as rowing and contending with 2 rods while trolling would be pretty difficult, doable, but I didn't need the hassle. So I rowed back to the launch and put all my excess gear away. Rowed back out casted my fly, and it was on fish on every 5 minutes or so. I c&rd everything I caught, probably 20 or so trout. All on an orange spider pattern.

Is there a lot of surface activity?

Yes, intermittent rises with fish clearing the surface by 2' at times occationally, when the wind was calm.
