After a great experience fishing and soaking in the scenery at Baker Lake last weekend - I could hardly wait to go back.

Got all my gear packed before heading to work at 10 am Thursday and worked straight till 145 am Friday. With no sleep and excited - I drove straight to Baker Lake and arrived at the campsite at 4 am. Set the tent and kayak up and in the water fishing around 530 am. Lots of fish on the finder and then around 630 I got the first fish on the kayak. Soon after resetting both rods with fresh sandshrimp right rod started to bounce and missed the fish with the shrimp gone. While re-baiting, my other rod on the left goes off and I immediately placed the hooks on my sandal and the rod goes completely straight with no tension. After grabbing the rod, fish clears the water leaping close to the kayak (flashback from last weekend when i got hit in the face) I was ready to hug this fish if it leaps at me again. Luckily, the fish ran away from the kayak and after several runs and jumps, the second one was on board. Soon after netting the 2nd, another hit and a solid hookup with the 3rd and final fish of the day. Headed back to camp around 745 am to clean the fish and placed them in the cooler.

Time to catch up on some sleep. Didn't take long, I passed out.
What a great morning and a beautiful place.
Felt relaxed and grateful.

You're the man! Good job, I remember when I was young and stuff like that to go fishing.

fishing 2 poles from a kayak sounds adventurous. even if it was a sea kayak i'd still be worried about it tipping over. nice job!
