This report is for the week of August 4-9. Fished Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. Launched each morning around 5:00. Still lots of boats on the water almost the same number as the first few day of the season. Early bite is still the best for a couple hours then slows. Except Tuesday we caught 2 then died for a couple hours before getting them to bite. Monday and Tuesday had Arctic fox with me. We ran 3 downriggers and stacked one of them so we had 4 poles fishing. One of his was dead but caught some on the other. Tuesday we stacked his poles too and had action on both. We ran the exact same gear on all poles and varied our depths from 45 to 65 feet. These sockeye have moved deeper with 65 being the best. Dodgers with short leaders and double red bare hooks again this week. We never changed out gear all week except to retie a lost hook. My stacked pole was the hot pole these two days. So guessing it was at about 56 feet. Caught 11 Monday and 7 Tuesday.
Tuesday was a bit windy. Wednesday and Thursday were really windy so I spent time finishing the trim work on our cabin.
Friday was supposed to settle down wind wise but that was not the case. Went out anyways and took another friend. We had a great early bite from 5:30 8:30. Caught 8 during that period and lost a few. We worked out the morning and caught one more around 11:00.
The wind was crazy so we only fished the far west end of the lake. When we had fish on one of us had to stay steering until the last second and jump up net the fish and go back to steering. When we quit there were not many other boats left on the water. Ride back to the park was rough but at least we were going with the wind. Saturday, Had same friend but added another plus two of his boys. Got to the launch earlier to bet the weekend rush. Water was real nice today. Flat and beautiful smoke filled sunrise. We had consistent action from five minutes after we set gear till about 8:30 then died. Finally caught 2 more while we were cleaning fish. The boys did a great job catching there first salmon. Between the 2 of them they brought in 5 and lost a few. Also had one that almost tangled with one of the stacked lines on the surface so I reached with the net and see the hooks come flying out. Thought we lost the fish but when I lifted the net there was one in it. So cool. So another epic week with 9 on Friday and 10 on Saturday. Lots of big smiles from the boys who had only really caught trout from a pay pond in Wyoming.

Great to see those kids having some fun. I looked through my stash and found some reflective tape from Lure Jensen that matches what you have. I'm going to fix up a couple of mine with it. My even put some on the other side of a double D.
