Earlier this year my brother and I went kayaking on horseshoe to see the waterfall. We caught all kinds of panfish and small largemouth on small crappie jigs, so in August we decided to make another trip. We brought along both of our girlfriends.
We went basically to see the waterfall and explore the crick behind it, but I brought along some bass gear to experiment. Wasn't really expecting anything of any size quality, but boy was I wrong.
We rolled up to a patch of lily pads around the corner, so I tied on a frog. First cast, three huge blow ups on the frog, the third resulting in a 2-3 lb largie. It only got better from there, and I pulled out a bunch more fish up to a pound.
I made a solo trip in my pontoon boat last Friday to see what else I could find in what is now one of my favorite bass fishing lakes. I fished the entire main lake, concentrating most of my efforts on throwing frogs in the lily pads. Did pretty well early on doing that, and when I left the Lillie's I started throwing a senko. I rolled up to a rocky point and hooked and lost probably a 1 pounder. Next cast in, and I hooked up with a 4 pounder. Great fight, even pulled me around a little. Caught quite a few more the rest of the day, doing really well on rocky shorelines and docks.
This is a really nice, secluded little lake. The 5 mph speed limit keeps water skiers and pleasure boaters off, and I'm pretty sure it's a non-internal combustion lake as well.

Most will bypass this little lake. Wait until about mid Sept. Hit it again. It's a fun little lake for medium LMB. After Labor Day there will be no activity on this little gem. Enjoy.

Nice fish kenyon9. No selective gear rules (page 99 WDFW Regs), 5 mph, Internal combustion motors allowed.
Personally I don't post my little gems; they don't stand the increased pressure well. - Alan

The speed limit sure does keep the numbers down, but that allows for great bass. There are a few lakers in there as well, plus Kokanee and bows. If you have a powered boat, go past the falls, follow the lake all the way to the north and east. It gets shallow, lots of logs and fall downs, then it gets a bit deeper again. Great fishing all the way.

Have one last Washington State fishing trip left in me, may need to take it here. Hmmmmmm
