the day started slow. arrived at 730am. Tony was allready fishing. i was eager to try my new dodger, to replace the old five year old one. i was lucky to find one, and the same prism tape like what i used on the old one. this one is new tho, and shines a great deal better. also, seps made it in "uv". the lake was like glass. not the way to get kokes to bite. i had to go into neutral and coast to a stop, to get the bites. but, i did. got my limit of five males. released two of next years fish. one was like 8". size was from 12.5-13.5". so they are still growing. am i imagining this, or was it a little harder scaleing them today?. several boats on the water. not sure how they did.

Hi doc,
Nice kokes! Here's how I scale them: get one of those fish filleting boards with a clamp on it. Clamp the fish down by the tail. Now take your water hose with a spray nozzle and spray AGAINST the scales toward the head and viola they will come right off!! Only takes about 15 seconds per fish.

Always enjoy your kokanee reports doc. Would love to say hi except I live in Eastern WA. Maybe next year at the WA Lakes Chelan shindig would be a good place to meet. I'll be fishing salmon on the Columbia for the next two weeks; someone's gotta do it.
