After a bust trip to Wallace stop by at the lake on the way home, I figured if I get skunk in the river, not in lakes. So set up two pole by the boat ramp. Power eggs pink on one and bobber worm on the other. Caught my limit less than an hour, 9 on worm and only 1 on PE. The last fish came in is a beaut river steelhead looking male, now I been catching this new stocker lately but its just hit me the conscience that this really gorgeous fish should be in river instead of lakes. What more fun it would be catching this 5 to 10 times its six right now. Oh well, I don't think there is anyway I could do with this fish but to be table fair and smoked for the holidays.....have fun and be safe.

HULI_ISDA... Hello Philip! I completely agree... but for some eco-blockheads these fish would be returning from the salt in two or three years as the great Steelhead we know and love in the Northwest. What a shame! But as I've been telling others, we have the opportunity to make lemonade out of lemons... a truly once in a lifetime opportunity. Enjoy reading your reports, always. PTL! ... hein19... look for the clipped Adipose fin!

These steelheads, do they grow in size when planted in lakes? Never heard of them being released to landlocked water. Very interesting.

All of these BONUS stocks of "Trout" in the King & Snohomish county lakes are the Steel head that were blocked from release by the Conversation Society in Duvall. They took the WDFG to court and sued , thus blocking the release of Steelhead until the federal government approves the HSA (Hatchery plan),
The concern is whether wild steelhead can compete with Hatchery fish in our rivers.
Somebody even went and cut the holding gate @ Tokul creek hatchery and released 200 fish which won't matter since the regulations will have the entire Snoqualmie closed during the hatchery season when they were scheduled to return.
great fish. Congrats. I need to get in on that action.

Great planning!

Anybody have a link to a legit news release about the lawsuit and controversy?
I'd like to read something to be more informed.
