At the last minute I decided to go fishing, hoping to get in 2 hours before getting rained on, but only managed 1 hour before getting wet. But at least I caught one fishie. 2.64 Smallie on a dropshot snub.

How far off the bottom is your hook, I never get any bites on d shot unless I'm in deep/clear water.

Usually about a foot dropper. I've had good luck at 10" a lot, but I like a 12" dropper or so best. I've tried 15" and more, but no bites, that I remember. Shallower water I've used 6", 8", 10" and 12", and caught fish, so I just leave it at about 12". I've even measured it after tying and it measures close to 12" most of the time.
