11/25/2014 2:32:00 PMIf you fish Ballinger there is a very high chance of you getting skunked. Or fishing 10 hours and getting 2 bites and 1 fish. Just be aware of that before you plan your trip. One goes to Ballinger to catch perch ( if it's summer time ) and enjoy a picturesque lake, not really so much to catch trout.

& to Whorde yes the only time i catch fish is when i am out in boat trolling. I have fished from dock a few times and have had no luck

11/25/2014 8:58:00 PMI do very well on a boat ... south west to the south east end of the lake. The dock and shoreline can be good at times but you will spend more time twiddling thumbs. Mid summer when the lake warms up the fishing (unless chasing perch) dies. Just my 2 cents.

11/26/2014 10:07:00 AMThe boat launch at Lake Ballinger is pretty shallow, and there isn't a good way to tie off to the dock. Just an FYI for anyone who hasn't been there. I have had decent success there trolling wedding rings and it's close to home for me.
