Decided to go to Blackman's lake today after work. Arrived around 5:20pm,was a little windy at first so I decided to use a kast master lire on a 4lb line, fished for about 1/2 hour and nothing, the guy next to me caught and released a few. Eventually wind died down, goty fly pole out of the truck, used a small sinking wooley bugger(olive green) then the fun began, caught well over 15-20 fish, then another guy got his fly rod and he caught about the Same amount!!

Size of fish isn't bad,I used a 5wt,4lb line fly rod and had a blast! Mostly all the fish were jumpers and put up a great fight for their size, biggest one I saw caught today was about 14 inches. This lake has a lot of bigger fish, just a matter of getting their attention. Overall the weather was great, fishing was awsome, had a great time! Fished between the docks at the public park, most fish were caught about 10 ft or less from shore, sorry no pics, was to busy fishing.

Great report, thanks for sharing. I'm still looking for my first fish on the fly rod, and Blackman's is pretty close to my work, so I may have to stop by and check it out soon! How were you presenting your wooley bugger, if you don't mind me asking.

The first fish on a fly always puts a smile on! I would go to the public park and fish between the two docks. I had most fish caught around the dock that's too the right if your standing at the parking lot and looking at the lake. If just cast it in and change my retrieval speed and see what worked better, had more luck on somewhat fast/long retrievals, good luck!, I might be out there today.
