Fished the derby with BassPlayer17 and had a consistently productive day. We started down low but after an hour moved up lake and found the fish. We caught fish (and each other) all day, ending our day with 17 in the box. We had our best day so far this year but also our worst getting tangled up when going straight. Nothing seemed to help until we finally just went down to two rods but then noticed the bite slowed not having as much attraction in the water. Day one ended with our boat solidly in 5th and if our past trips held true where the second day was more productive, we would have moved up the leader board. Dead-ass tired from only two hours sleep the night before we headed back to our room. I cleaned the first days catch while my buddy got some well earned zzz's.

Having filleted all the fish and ready for day 2 I sat on the bed and that is the last thing I remember. I woke up a couple hours later with my phone in my hand and feet still on the floor but must have just rolled into bed because our wake-up call came from another boat asking where we were fishing....well this is awkward. It's now about 6:30 I think and we bust our butts to get packed up and to the launch - on the water at about 7:45 and motor back up lake to the same spot. We couldn't get into a groove and only boated three fish Sunday but the weather was awesome and the event a total success. Thank you to Jayson from Something Catchy for putting on a great event.

LOL, I feel your pain = being that tired after a LONG day fishing; it's a "good tired", but tired none the less!!! Sounds like you had a great weekend.

--I was pre- fishing 25 mile... two shallow and two deep lines... different rig on each line as was in a searching mode. Got a fish on each line within 15 minutes then nothing.
--Water temp guage showed water 46-48 degrees all the way down deep no thermalcline so fish were probably scattered throughout.
--I managed to hit bottom with the downrigger...not at 1500 ft but near point, Chelan side of the 25 mile boat launch.
--First time I fished the lake had a great time.

We tried to stay in about 250-300 FOW and had fish all day long. Saturday was a great day and to be in 5th place we were pretty stoked. I only started targeting kokes last May so I'm pretty happy with the success but had a lot of help along the way. Anyone that wants to get their kokanee game tight should hire Zack McGlothern for a day on Stevens or Chelan. Best kokanee investment ever. https://www.facebook.com/NWSportfishing
