I think it could be a Tiger & if it is it would be a state record. So were gonna have a warden come check it out in the morning. People at the lake kept telling him it was a mack, which anyone who has ever caught a mack can see it's not. But it's coloring does make it kinda tough to tell what trout species it is from pictures. I looked up the state record Tiger from Chelan it looks identical. So i will post when we find out tomorrow

It's got some serious teeth too. Thats another reason I think it could be a Tiger cause the 16-20" Tiger's i've caught out there have way more teeth than any other trout I've seen

One hell of a fish! Sure not a Mack. Saw a big Tiger caught there today, that was probably close to that size. It had much different markings than the picture though. Look forward to seeing your post with species.

Hey Bill, per our phone conversation yesterday and after looking at some of the Tiger pic's I posted back in 2011 for this lake and pic's posted on Fish Lake south of Cheney (where the previous state Tiger record came from), I'd have to agree with DjButler above that this is just a big Cutt! Congrats to your uncle, I would mount that!

Appears to be the twin brother of the state record Tiger trout. Hope there was a certified scale available to weight the fish. Don't believe there are Cutts in Loon plus it would eclipse the Westslope Cutt record by 12 lbs.

Well the state fisheries biologist came out and said he thought it was a Tiger but he wanted to make sure so he drove it to the Ford hatchery where all the Tigers are hatched & they said it is for sure a Tiger. And that they lose a lot of markings when they get big. But it's not a state record , it only weighs 12 1/2 lbs. The. Spring scale it was weighed on yesterday had a bend in the needle that appeared to make read 16. So no record but still a hell of a fish. Biologist said it was the biggest he's seen since the Fish lake record. He also talked about that there could be more of this size trout in the lake from the first stocking from 07 i believe. So there could be a state record at Loon?

Thanks for added information. Very interesting. I've caught a couple of Tigers there in the 3-4lb range, which all had the striped pattern & distinctive markings. So that's what they look like when they grow up!
