I went fishing on Thursday before Seahawks game 10:30am to 3pm at Lake Cassidy. I own a small boat with no motor so tend to not wander to far end of the lake to the north but stay on boat launch side and work my way South to shallow end of the lake.

I started out by pads to left of boat launch and caught two fish on top water minnow largest was 10.5". I worked the pads on outside then put my boat in the middle and worked the holes towards back casting top water minnow here and there. They have been holding closer to cover the past few weeks so you have to hit the right spot to get them to hit. I had two roll behind the lure as I moved it too soon and Cassidy the big one's tend to do that and get spooked easy. I caught one more in that set of pads close to the dock and wind was picking up so decided to drift with the wind south and use my swimming #7 Rapala and make some casts on outside of the pads. About fourth cast in FISH ON! He hit hard and went straight down...it's a big one...found my drag and loosened it up as I only have on 6lb test...He fought hard and jumped twice and tried to shake the lure. It didn't work and I carefully reached between the two treble hooks to lip him. A big 16" Largemouth by 4" wide 3lbs +. This one ties my largest ever caught there. Had a 15" early this year too.

Fishing was a bit slow today and places I was catching them a few days earlier nothing was biting. I had one more larger fish hit the swimming Rapala but he tossed his head and shook the lure...he was smaller 12-14" range as I saw him...he had some hang time.

Got 8 fish 16"-1, 11"-1, 10.5"-1 and rest 7-9". It was slow day as I had been getting around 14-25 fish per outing last few weeks.

All fish catch and released.

Nice work! I usually start hitting that lake once the seasonal lakes close at the end of October. You may also try wacky rigged Senko's on the outside edge of the pads!

Tight lines.

Thanks guys went there today and it was busier got 29 fish new lake for me record. One 10" crappie and 10 over 10" on bass largest was 14" and 12". Good day they were holding in the pads today and lots in the back so you had to be able to hit the holes with your top water lure.
