This was my first time launching at Lake Meridian. I had done some research and didn't expect much this time of year, or this time of day for that matter. As expected, I was the only boat fishing the whole 3 hours. Although my fishfinder was marking fish at various depths, the bite was definitely off.

I tried several different tackle and bait setups throughout the day, trying different colors and scents. Things that worked well last week at Angle Lk did nothing so I changed tackle often. Some of the things I tried, Dick Nite, 2 colors, garlic or bloody tuna scented, Purple MagLips with Shrimp, even tried cut plug herring! No hunger, no aggression towards my presentations.

One pole: on the DR, setback 30', down 15 - 35 feet. Second pole: 1/2 oz weighted and 70' behind the boat. I was surprised not to get any action whatsoever. But it was a lovely afternoon of fishing solo on my 66th birthday!

Hopefully the bite will improve later this spring. Tight Lines!

First off happy late birthday. Hope you had a great time even with no bites. I want spring to come already to go for those kokanee. Maybe will try going out here in few weeks. Thanks for the report.

Thanks, Mike! Yeah, I'll give it another try in a couple weeks and let you guys know if it gets better out there. I do like the scene. And the launch fee is a reasonable $5. Bring on those Kokanee!

Just a little bit early, but give it two weeks when the water gets in that 53-55 degree mark and they start getting pretty active. Also, pay attention to when the state plants trout. That is when it starts to pick up. Kokes start to feed and get competitive. See you out there!
