I will just do 1 report for the 3 days I spent participating in the NW fishing reports Chelan get together~ so after using my sales skills to convince my wife it was okay for me to fish on our 39th wedding anniversary on Saturday April 30th while she visited her sister in Wenatchee, I arrived in Chelan on Thursday night around 9:30 pm.

Got set up in my hotel room and prepared things for a great weekend of fishing and fellowship but was a little concerned with the gale winds blowing that Friday morning may be spent waiting for the wind to die down again!

Friday April 29th- Alas woke up at 4 am and was happy to see a flat body of water awaiting the arrival of myself and the TIn Cup! Was at the Mill bay launch by 5:15 and on the water fishing before 6; a couple launching at the same time told me they limited out the day before right in front of the launch between monument and rocky point so figured why not! Got to 130 fow and set out my first line with a brads mini pink cut plug stuffed with shimp scented tuna belly and set it down to 30 feet on the wire. As I was setting up my second pole saw the rod bouncing so grabbed it off the clip and fish on! My 1st kokanee of the trip came in and the skunk was off early- next after getting both lines back down with 1 at 30 and the other at 45 with a pink hootchie, the deeper one goes off and soon have 2 in the cooler before 6:30 am!

Well by 7am I have 4 in the boat and realizing I didn't have my regs starting making some frantic texts to folks trying to figure out if it was a 5 or 10 fish limit ( pretty good problem to have by 7am on any body of water!)
Got word back that it was 10 so happily kept going and worked my way down to rocky point where I picked up my biggest of the day at 60 feet on the hootchie set up as I moved my presentations deeper as the sun rose hit the water- speaking of which, we were blessed this weekend with just absolutely perfect weather conditions except for a little bit of a breeze and chop to start out Saturday but that comes next.

Thinks slowed down after 10:30 so took a break at noon and then got a text from MIke@bills saying he could see the tip cup and how I was doing. While he was giving me some tips on trolling for cutthroat he suddenly said frantically he had to go and the phone went dead- hmm, weird any way went back to fishing and finished up by 3pm with my last to give a day 1 total of 8 kokanee.

Okay so this report is getting long so days 2 and 3 will be on the next report but went by the state park to say hi to folks and ran into Mike who apologized for hanging up on me but showed me a picture of a 9.9 lb king he hooked while we were talking so really had to go! He said he would call me Saturday if things got slow to see if we could work up the same magic! Ha ha!
