Packernut and I fished the pike tourney on Cda lake over the weekend. We caught 11 pike on Saturday and 14 on Sunday. The fish we found were small, no big ones for the weigh in. The fish were caught in 4 to 8 feet of water and were not particularly fond of any one lure until Sunday, when they liked the spoons. Saturday the bit on spinner baits, frogs, spoons and jerk baits. Water temps we saw in the main lake were 52-54 degrees and up to 60 in the chains. These smaller fish are pretty active now and the bite should only get better as the overnight low temps get warmer. Weed beds are looking good and the fish can be found in and around them now.
