This morning was actually quite disappointing. With good weather and calm waters I thought for sure today was gonna be a killer day to fish. Got to Stevens around 5:30am was fishing at 5:45. Had a strike right away down at 25ft on a green Kokanee pro WR. Couldn't land that guy and then it was absolutely dead for hours. Threw all kinds of combinations at em and finally I gave em what they wanted. The set is displayed in the pictures. The hoochies with spinners were hand tied. The white blade had 2 fish and the pink had 1.

The most frustrating part is that I marked fish all morning and ran all kinds of gear and scent through them for hours. Is there something I'm missing about Stevens later in the season? Anyways, this was a horrible video I took but at least I captured something. Enjoy!

hay DjButler, sometimes its the little things that make a difference. Are you wearing gloves when handling lures or bait or barehanded? My experience is that cheap latex gloves can make a huge difference. Kokanee have an incredible sense of smell and if you have sunscreen or something fish foreign on your hands its a big red flag to fish. Maybe downsize gear a bit? or shorten leaders? Just a couple ideas. Fish on!!!

Nice report DJ...sorry to hear the fish were not too cooperative. At least you banished the skunk and went home with some tasty treats! Better luck next trip, amigo!

Are you on the Northwest Kokanee Addicts page on Facebook? Might check-in with Kenny Jans or Zack McGlothern. I believe they both fish Stevens plenty enough to give you some pointers. I've never fished it before so I have no specific intel to help you out.

Hey Djbutler nice report, I was there Saturday morning and had the same results. There for 5 hrs and only 3 fish. Have not figured it out yet.
I might give the latex gloves a try as rmrauscher suggested. Hopefully better next time. Tight lines.

I was out there on Sunday morning with the same results, 4-5 hours and two fish.

A huge amount of fish has been taken out due to heavy pressure. Just sayin!

Hey DJ, sorry to hear of the tough outing. I fished this morning and God blessed with a limit. My report is pending. Don't know if you have or tried the God's tooth spoons but they worked excellent for me. Good job on not getting skunked and hang tough brother :)!

Hahaha, I'm not in anyway upset about this trip. Just disappointed. I will take 3 fish over 0 anyday. Not going to lie, I wish I could go to Chelan every weekend. Much faster fish caught that actually hit your lure when it's in front of them. Definitely spoiled over there.

Hey DJ I've used foryou's set up, and it worked great for me there. Not his kind of success, but better than anything else I had thrown at them. 3 is definitely better than 0! Nice report and video!
