Well my little girl wanted to go fishing with dad for sometime now so we loaded up the boat and hit the water for a father daughter fishing trip to Summit. I knew that fish would bite and a smaller safer lake for a her. We arrived at 10:30 am and got the boat in the water. Just the two of us I figured we would just run my two poles on one DR, after 5 min of fishing she wanted her own pole. hmm....ok I said and set the second DR up and set her up with a sling blade and pink hoochie tipped with corn and super dippin sauce on all the rods.

We got our first fish within 10 min and she started reeling it in now this is her first time fishing from the boat and only her second fish caught. A nice fat koke and in the box it went, after she knocked it out cold....lol. She has no problem getting that taken care of. Reset her line and send it down to 34' and 5 min later another fish on she is all smiles and says can I grab the pole...no. I hand her the rod and she starts reeling it up. This one is heavy dad, ok just keep reeling dad get the net and hurry up...ok!! Here come a very nice koke and just as I go to dip the net off it swims. Now comes the first lesson don't reel all the line in to the tip of the rod. Get it reset and now she wants to run the DR....ok so I clip the line in and we send it down to 37' this time.

About 15 min passed and I got one on my rod and let her reel it in a nice little rainbow in the box it comes. I change my gear up and run a pink hoochie on mine as well. Get the gear reset and off we go for the next five hours we drive around the lake catching fish having a great time. She is enjoying the waves from the other boat and laughing and all of sudden my poles start dancing as I am rocking the boat even harder side to side as the wake hits us. She starts reeling it up and her's goes off a double!! I start reeling it in and she says grab the net its here ok I set her pole in the rod holder and scoop the fish in a nice koke, hand her the other rod and one more koke in the boat. What a fun trip this was.

All in all we came home with limits and she did almost all the work, she loved it and did much better then I thought she would. I let her play in the water off the back of the boat for a few minutes then we headed to boat launch we water time was the ticket for 15 mins before the hour ride home. We lost a ton of fish and had many drive by's and came home with a nice mixed bag of fish with her rod catching all the kokes. We headed home at 3:30pm. What a great day!
