Started out of Bloedel and fished the docks on the north end picking up a couple pounders. Got to the bay in the NE corner and missed a nice one in the grass, once on my spinnerbait and again on a soft fluke. Tried mixing it up with colors but they continued to short strike. Headed over to the area around the rock island and lost a 2lber on the spinnerbait and caught a couple more pounders on a grub. Fished a few docks to the south of the island but only managed dinks and one about 1.5lbs. I motored over to the area that leads out to Strawberry Point and fished docks again. Caught the first decent smallie here on the spinnerbait 3.2lbs and a really good fight, jumping 4 times.

From here it was dink followers and perch all the way to the point where I boated a couple pounders and missed one decent one. Ran straight down to Geneva Point as the wind was picking up, only had one strike here so I bumped out into open water and retied some rigs and got out more drop shot baits to try on the way back.

The fish were fairly aggressive on the spinners but would routinely short strike, sometimes two or three times per retrieve! They wouldn't look at my drop shot and the dinks jumped all over my grubs snapping the tails off.

I finished the day drop shotting the pilings on the east side of the lake catching the last decent fish of the day, a 3.3lber in 25 feet of water. I brought my dogs and could tell they were pretty pooped so I decided to call it a day.

Nice fish. I was out last week twice and fish were chasing the lures...got more swimming my top water minnow with pause and twitch then letting it sit in one spot. They are active with warm weather and schooling had lots of groups chase it to the boat. Just need to find that school of 3lbers!
