Got a new anchor trolley system and anchor for the Hobie, decided I would take it out for a try this morning on Goodwin. Since I haven't figured out the trick to trolling this lake mid-July thru August, some bottom fishing was in order. I get bored pretty quick still fishing unless I am sitting on a bank or dock somewhere. In the Hobie, I feel like I should be doing something. Anchor and anchor trolley system worked great though. Fishing was actually over and done with fairly quick.

I trolled over to the southeastern part of the lake out in front of the hedges. No bites. Changed out to bottom fishing gear. 4 foot leader, 3/4 ounce slip sinker, and chartreuse power eggs. I was limited in 30-45 minutes. Actually got on and off the water before the pleasure boats made it out.

The one picture shows what I pulled out of the gut of one of the fish. Fish was actually fat and healthy considering how long it seems these items were in her gut based on the condition of the worms/hook. Big hook too, looks like a size 2 or 1. Seems like a big hook for the lake.
