I tend to vary the trolling speed and have caught fish at both a fast- and a medium-settings on the Minn Kota trolling motor. But, that said, you are the second person to ask for definitive speeds. (I'll bring a GPS the next time I'm out on Rock and provide you with actual numbers.)

Had an opportunity, though limited, to test a 2.8" fluorescent green with pink tail yesterday. Wind conditions at Roosevelt shortened my test, but it did look great trolled at about 2.5mph. It brought a nice 17" 'bow to the net before I cut the test session short. You can read more in my Roosevelt report (once approved). :-)

I located a GPS/speed-app for my Android phone. I'll take it with the next time I'm on Rock or similar water and record speed data when trolling.

10/10/2016 7:55:00 AMIt has been a long time since I fished Rock Lake. Is there any improvements on the launch area - and is the launch area still owed by the land owner or has the WDFW bought the land and improved it. Thank you.
