11/8/2016 8:26:00 PMI am not a trout eater, always catch and release. Sprague fish have 2-4 times the fight that a typical Roosevelt fish has!

11/9/2016 7:57:00 AMI have eaten them before out of Sprague, catch and release would be my choice.The fish were caught in late October and had a musty flavor, not appealing.

My opinion is the same as eat-sleep-fish....bend the barbs down and turn em loose! They are not very good table fare. Smoking won't fix it either.

11/9/2016 2:53:00 PMActually, late Winter and early Spring those fish eat quit well and smoke even better. However, I always clean my fish ASAP and put them on ice prior to departure for home. Right now...I just don't know; me, I'd be tempted to try one, but the rainbows out of Lake Roosevelt are always the best.

11/11/2016 9:05:00 AMGood point T-Bone! Clean, or at least bleed, them immediately and that's no matter where you catch 'em. Ensures best table quality regardless whether you eat them fresh, canned, or smoked. :-)
