After a few attempts with zero fish, I came back to Beaver lake for some redemption. Started at 7:30 in the morning and had a few bites, but nothing hooked. A guy close to me caught a small trout, but we were all under slow action.
Between 9 and 12 the bites stopped as temperatures dropped and started to rain and get windy.
At about 12:30 I had a few other bites and one hooked. Not a lot of fight, it was a small trout (didn't measure, but likely a 10").
Got some other bites until 2pm but then decided it was enough.
Even though I didn't catch much it was a fun day. I am still a newbie, so I was able to test different setups to learn a bit more.
It really felt like the fish were not really biting, but more of testing the baits. I could see and feel some pullsort, but nothing really hookable and mostly just one time and that was it.
Water was quite cold, maybe their apetite is still light.

beaver is a tricky lake. the fishing is only good around the time they stock the lake, and then it picks back up around mid April. In April i usually catch my limit within a hour or so. i tried beaver for a 2nd time last week and spent about 3 hours fishing. the previous anglers before me caught nothing, and i only managed to land a nice 17 incher within my first 10 mins. but after that no bites.

i do have a video of my first outing on the lake here:

the clip of the 17incher will be in a future video :)

Nice video - quick question: what time of day was that?
