Trout Lodge saved the day! Was pouring down rain when I arrived. First 2 casts with my new 8 foot bank casting rod landed in an overhanging tree! Started out with green Gulp floating trout bait. Line was soaking for about 30 minutes when a Trout Lodge truck showed up with a bunch of fish! I quickly reeled in my plunking set and switched over to my ultralight with a black-skirted blue and white roostertail and caught these 5, plus 3 others that I released in about 30 minutes! I was soaked because of the rain, but who cares when the fishing is this hot! The last fish I put on the stringer did take about 15 minutes of cast and retrieve to catch, so the fish did eventually disperse and will probably be ready for boat anglers by this afternoon. Can't wait to get these fillets into my smoker!

Nice looking fish. You better post on how they come out of the smoker, and what recipe you use!

Don't waist your time filling them. Wet brine and smoke em whole. Trust me! Taste way better with trout, also you get more meat, and? it's moister. Hope this helps
