Went on a tuna trip booked through ocean charters on the ms. magoo.
Left port about 8:30, ran out to the fishing area, and bunked out
until dawn. Trolled for an hour or so, nothing, so moved another 20 miles (south?) and started hitting fish. 8 fishermen aboard, caught 240 albacore, avg 13lbs each, usually from very large schools of albacore visible on the surface. Most of the fish caught with live bait, i'd say only 5 or 10 caught with the jigs.
stayed out that night, did some more fishing in the morning. Ended up with approximately 200lbs of tuna filets. Pretty fun trip.
