Got out with my Bro-in-law Tom on my birthday for some fishing with no loss of brownie points! We launched at Everett and struggled out through the waves to Pt No Pt, which was more sheltered from the winds. There were a few boats trolling there and only one boat drifting.

I fished a Hot Spot and a Coyote. Tom ran a Hot Spot and a Grand Slam Bucktail with a herring strip. I went to 115 right on the bottom, Tom stopped at 95. About five minutes into our first pass, my pole got a really good hit. After a good tug of war, Tom netted a 12 pound blackmouth for me. With the fish still in the net, Tom's pole went off, and I had to get things cleaned up in time to net a ten pounder for him. Limited the boat in 10 minutes! I hadn't even had time to turn on my black box! Both fish were fin-clipped females.

We tried a bit for chums, but when we talked to the fish checker at the dock, she said she hadn't seen one for a week or two. I think there was a pretty good bite in the morning. We talked to folks who did well early in Saratoga Passage, and we saw a number of fish netted while we were at Pt No Pt. It was pretty rough at Possession and we only saw a couple of boats there.
