Was a great day to be on the water, did not rain on us at all. Launched the boat at 9 AM. We were looking for smallies, because the information in Hunting and Fishing News suggested we try for them this time of year. The water temperature was on average 48 deg. and as high as 51 deg. in the shallows on SW end of the lake. The wind was not much of an issue today but it was blowing a little. Most of the boats on the lake were fisherpersons. Pretty much everyone had plenty of room to fish any way they wanted. I talked to a lot of the others that were fishing and nobody was putting fish in the boat. My partner fought for several minutes getting a 10 pound stick to the boat, but at the last second it threw the hook and headed for the bottom. According to all the articles I have read the fish should be moving up shallow now the water is warming. Of course we all know fish can't read so they will be where you find them. Tight lines Gray skies and good luck.
