Got down to dash point around 9am to do a lil' crabbing & chucking darts for kings and left around 1 pm. The weather sucked and made it easier to leave earlier than i had planned. Didn't hook or even see any salmon today (not many bottom fish either) used a pearl white pt wilson dart and even tried casting some herring. Got one lopsided red rock crab that ended up goin back. Tough day all the way around.

spokey- we'll get our chance off the pier soon. It's still early for pinks. Although it has been real slow off Dash for Kings and Dungess this year so far. My itch is gettin' tough to scratch LOL. Just a couple more weeks.

Grey Dog - not really in a rut been fishing dash pt mainly to get in on the kings or pinks as they come in (hopefully before the zoo) instead of after they're in, even though i know it's an uphill battle at the moment. i know south & north have been pretty good, and i got a sis in port angeles if'n i was really desperate to catch a pinko. although my punch card is feeling neglected (ain't punched a salmon since may).

spokey- I haven't punched a salmon since last November LOL. Talk about getting itchy. We're gettin' close tho and certainly it will be a zoo again at Dash Pt guaranteed. Was an interesting bunch in '09. Remember the Indian cardiologist guy and his wife down there? They were pleasant. Nice to have a cardiologist around just in case I get too excited with a salmon LOL. I remember waiting for the gate to open with them a time or 2. I recall you and yours too with the gear for a full day on the dock. Must say your seal impression was spot on!

knot - you're talking about shalene (i think that how you spell it) they were pretty good people. i ended up doin a bunch of fishin' with them in the rivers and got my 1st fish out of the carbon & the nasty that year. i'm hoping to improve my seal impression this year, been working hard gettin my figure in a lil rounder shape to properly fit in with my salmon snatchin brethren, lol.

Just don't get no paint balls in the face if you have further refined your impression :-) Wonder if anyone will be packing this year (paint balls that is). Those seals and sea lions were getting pretty aggressive even trying to snatch fish out of the crab traps as they got hoisted up.

It was tuff watching them swim up and down right under the pier just waiting for "fish on" to be called out. I got pretty frustrated a time or two trying to yank a fish out of the water with them in hot pursuit. May have to use heavier line this go-round.

As for crab- the last 2 years now have been real real slow for Dungies out there, at least for me.
