jigged in the kelp for a rockfish then went for silvers. 40 to 60 ft down in 250 to 300 ft of water fished from 330 to 5 then from 630 to 8. came in with 2. Released 2 kings and several wild silvers. Cop car Coho killer behind red edged echip flasher, and a white and green coyote spoon behind a flasher w/orange strip and green and black spots. speed of 2.5 to 3

day 2 started out with same gear at 530 am in the fog, fishing 250 ft of water 10 ft down. Couldn't keep the shakers off. Picked up and went to 400 ft then started getting fish. Most came around 450 ft. A lot of wild fish. Worked from the top down to 40 ft. or 50 ft. we went down as the day got later. At some point it slowed down and I changed one rod to a green flasher, it got hit so I changed both. (see pictures) Lost the white and green spoon on a hot double that may have been one big fish on both rods. We didn't get it in to see it. Got 4 we could keep.
after lunch went after bottom fish. Jigged the kelp with several jigs (lost a few) green and white did real well. Came in with 2 greenling and 2 black rock.

day 3 started at 70:00 in 400 ft out to 550, top to 50 ft down. HOT fishing. Took long time to find one we could keep. came in with one at 10:00.

The coyote spoon got the most explosive surface strikes.

Sounds like a blast. I'll have a boat big enough to do that next year so I'm wondering, how many fish do you think you hooked to get 1 keeper? I just want to know that if I haul my boat all the way there, I'm going to have some action (assuming I know what I'm doing, of course).

Between 7am and 10 we released 10 or more and had a lot of missed or lost fish. The fishing turned off and on as we went thru schools of fish.
When its on you can't get the line in the downrigger before you have a fish on. Next year is a pink year and should be great in July for kings and pinks. Last year was great! I have been up there when it was slow. Last Sept. the fishing should have been hot but was slow.
