Started out at first light by the Shipwreck but after about an hour we had only managed couple of shakers so we moved over to Scatchet Head, which is my brothers go to spot.

After about 2 minutes at 75 feet it was fish on which was the little one in the picture. This was my first salmon of the year so that, coupled with the fact that when I got it to the boat it was all twisted and wrapped up in the line, meant that it was bound for the fish box so that I could get it all untangled. My second fish came about an hour and a half later from 95 feet of water and was around 7 pounds. My brother picked up his first fish about 30 minutes after my first fish. We actually had a double going but mine came off at the boat which was okay because it was only about 3 pounds, and he landed his which was a nice 10 pounder. His 2nd fish came around 9:30 and went about 8 pounds. We both lost a couple of fish either at the boat or shortly after they first popped the down rigger and between us we released 6 shakers. Not to bad a showing for 3 1/2 hours on the water.

In talking with the Fish Checker at the dock in Everett, she mentioned that every boat that she had checked by 10:00 a.m. had their limits, so there's lots of fish being caught, but so far they're all in that 5-10 pound range, which are nice sizes for eating.

The 2nd picture is what came out of the belly of my bigger fish. The knife handle is 5 inches across the center line so you can see that the bait fish that they're feeding on are not very big.

Tight lines to all!

Thanks guys!
Yeah, I used to be a full time bass guy, and I will be the first to admit that every once in a while I can still hear the "siren call" of tournament angling, but so far I've been able to resist its pull. Now I just like to fish and I never pass up an opportunity to fish with my big brother, which is something we've done since the days of my first garage sale fishing pole and a Zebco 202 spincast reel I bought with the money I earned picking strawberry's when I was 9 or 10 years old. In fact, Gringo, I should have you show me where I can break in this new Fenwick HMX set up that I picked up at the Sportmans Show back in January.
