Took pops out Sunday to try for a quick limit and ended up getting skunked. Didn't see any fish being caught out of a lot of boats so moved more into the bay to see if they were schooling up and still no luck. Didn't have a lot of time before work so we headed in with an empty fish box. Caught a dozen or so shakers and brought in an eyeball from our one good hit with no hook up. Pretty strange. Tried all the normal gear. Baitfish and birds were thicker than ever out there though so wishing I would have brought some herring to fish. I think that would have been the ticket. Saw more fish on the finder thatn normal as well so morning bite may have just been slow. Should have worked it a little harder but I was hoping to find a school in the bay but just wasted time. I'm thinking the rain may have sent some up the river which I hear is crammed but I think there is more hot bites yet to come in the salt. I will get back out again this week and let you know when I do. At the dock, one out of five boats had a single fish. Maybe the abundance of bait had something to do with it. Literally more than I have ever seen jumping everywhere at west point with hundreds of birds feeding on them. All morning!! Why did I leave again? Lol dumbass!! Anyone else do any good out there lately?

we lost one today off Meadow Point. Saw the same, lots of bait, lots of fish marks, lots of shakers.

One of the reports for Sunday in area 9 said the same thing. Also mentioned the full moon can play a hand in it which I have heard before. Thanks for the info!!

Mike was at Meadow point today? What time? Now that I think about it, I may or may not have seen a Seaswirl cuddy, with a blue strip form nose to tail? Did you get many Downrigger releases, Mike? It is much tougher fishing than week past. Fish checker was almost 1.5 fish per boat. She said Sat was wiiiinnnnddyy, and a .5 fish per boat average. I hate it when I catch 1/2 of a fish.....LOL!

Thanks for posting. Looks like it was hit or miss. I've seen a couple of reports of lights out fishing and many of pretty scratchy fishing over the weekend. Was out a couple of weeks ago in the West Point to Meadow Point stretch and everything we caught was at 120' - 125'. Good luck and tight lines.

My pleasure bryanpeck. We definitely hit a bunch down at 120' previously. Then started whacking them shallower as well as deep. They have been all over. Any word on depth or gear from whoever found lights out fishing this weekend? area?
