Gorgeous opening day of crabbing season. Arrived at Eddie Vine at 10 done at 2:30. with 5 pots/rings we caught 8 Dungeness and 2 red rock. Probably could have done better but the boys were half heatstroked right at high tide so we pulled all shortly after. We seemed to do best seemed to be in 80 feet of water, but lots of pots at all depths out there.

I recalled the forum thread on boat ramp etiquette--don't know what this one couple did or who they pissed off but they came back to all the tires slit--even the trailer! Pretty scary.

I'd bet that they decided to load the boat after they started backing down the ramp. Overly annoying, but slashing tires is uncalled for.

After spending a fair amount of time at various boat ramps. It is hard to be surprised anymore. I don't know if it is failure to acknowledge proper etiquette or it is a case of privilege. But the bigger and more expensive the boat. The more patience "your" expected to have. What surprises me most, is the haphazardly parked truck with trailers attached. That is unbelievable.

Agreed, tire slashing is to aggressive of a behavior. There is quite a gap between "thinking about it" and "acting on it".

Was it a big black dually truck that had the tires slashed (parked in the first spot by the exit)? If so, I went out on Saturday at about 4am and that truck was already there with slashed tires. However, the boat trailer tires were not slashed (which I thought was odd since whoever did the slashing made sure to slash both of the dual back tires of the truck). If it's the same truck, someone obviosly came back and got the trailer on Saturday night. A guy I spoke to thought it was probably the people living in the woods because it has happened before. I don't know, it's always easy to blame the creepy guy in the woods. Seems like a pretty senseless thing for someone to do unless they had a run-in with the owner at some point. Regarding the comment on people parking their rigs haphazardly in the lot......I can kind of understand it since you cannot see the lines at all. I let the guy at the ramp (City of Seattle worker who makes sure you pay to launch) know that I was not going to spend another $150 next year on an annual boat pass if they did not get the lines painted in that parking lot. I also told him that "someone" might even bring a can of spray paint and make their own lines if need be. I think everyone who buys a pass should make a call and complain. Where the hell is our money going?

Jungle Jim--Yes it was the black dually truck in that first spot.

I should modify my request that everyone who buys an annual pass should call the City of Seattle and complain about the lack of paint on the boat parking spaces.....EVERYONE who uses the launch (and pays the $10 fee) should call and complain.

thanks for the report, sounds like you guys did alright!
I'm seeing more and more vandalism lately. I dont understand people. It seems we are becoming less civilized rather than more.
