Left the office after 2 hours this morning and took the boat out to the south side of Whidbey island. After a while we found huge schools of Herring around Useless Bay, lots of Pinks and from what I could see Silver's in between. We started of with Buzz Bombs but wouldn't get any hits. Switched over to small pink jigs and started getting hits and followers but nothing would stick to the hook. We didn't start fishing before 9, which was well into outgoing tide. The sun was up high which seemed to make the fish very shy... Will try to get out on incoming tide next week. I give it a couple more weeks and fishing will be red hot. Even if not, taking out the boat still beats work by far!!!
