I'd have to say the bulk of our pink run is already in Puget Sound. We arrived at Fort Casey at around 12:30 pm. As we were walking in we saw a guy with a nice 7 pound coho. We also saw another coho caught on herring under a float, and another taken by a fly fisherman. The sun came out and the tide started to come in, bringing with it tons of sea grass making fishing impossible until around 4 pm. At around 5:00 the cloud cover returned and after almost ten humpy attempts this season I FINALLY brought in a fish. A bright 6 pound buck took my pink rotator w/pink hoochie. Over the next hour and a half I hooked into and lost four fish. At around 6:30 I landed my second and last fish which was a hen of about 5 pounds. It took almost three minutes to bring the thing in. Awesome how a small salmon can be so strong. In total we saw five pinks caught this evening and three coho caught earlier on in the day. I heard that early in the morning there was even more pink action as well. Go get your pinks while the Sound is still saturated with them!
