So, late morning start due to the expectations of fog. Had the rods down around 8:30 am and started trolling in 300 ft of water just south of the shipwreck. Lg. Purple Haze + Pearl hootchie on one rod, small army truck with green splatter back coho killer on the other. Ran the gamut from 55 on the 'riggers to 80. Army truck rod had two hooks up and managed to only get a head shake and gone out of both of them. Drowned one very large hearing that I think I accidentally had on for a 20 min. ride before checking the rod. Both hook ups...oh and the hapless hearing... were before 10:30 am. We trolled out to the main channel up to 750 feet ranging from 2 to 3.5 mph. Tried everything from Big Al's flashers red/green flasher to small green flasher to large race car. No luck. Several pops on the 'riggers but nothing to indicate a fish on the other end. Saw a number of fish landed, most looked like Pinks, a couple of Cohos maybe. Cut our loses @ 1 pm and turned the day into a boat ride in some late summer sun.
