6/18/2008 5:13:00 PMdifferent technique for the bait.. I started fishing for steelhead when i was 10 years old.... i was riding a banana bike from fed-way to soo creek car body hole. I've made plenty of judgements and errors.. now I'm 50.... I mainly stick with the steelhead and salmon.......... Let me ask you a question. if you were fishing a corky and a bair hook you jerk reaction would have to be quick. would it not?? because it........ wouldn't take no time at all before it is past our oh his mouth so you'd better be quite. jerk for the stars. when in doubt set the hook..... BUT TIME OUT.... When using baits you get a little more time.. half the fun is knowing there is a ironhead sucking the tail off your 5 inch long sand shrimp.. let it have its dinner... Its not always the case of swinging a golf club when set ten the hook. that's some of the fun of knowing the difference.....i have caught at least a few bakers dozens and have lost thousands. but remember i did it in 40 years..... good luck

6/18/2008 7:06:00 PMWhen you set the hook, swing for the fences!!!!!! a good hard hookset will take you far. When you feel a bite, as soon as it takes it hard et the hook hard!
