Was that Hen spawned out? Looks pretty skinny. I've never seen any pictures of any chromers out of that creek. Do you see some there?

I am not sure that I will go on Saturday. I got that new vehicle that I need to get service. I will just have to see what happens on Saturday. Thanks for asking.

Whoops sorry posted a comment before I wrote anything.

Anyways, not to be rude or anything (because I know FISHINROB catch's his fair share of fish) but the last few pics of steelies that you have posted looked like small spawned out kings. How do you cook these metalheads? Do you smoke them? I personally don't keep a steelie unless it is a chromer. No offense towards you if you think that I am taking a cheap shot, because I am not.

I personally think it is ignorance really about anyone questioning someone or anyones taste for what they will eat. Just watch that guy on food network "Andrew Zimmerman Bizare foods" and I am sure, you will change your mind. I regret, but was browsing other forums and this topic was brought up as well..Fishinrob is a great fisherman, and I am glad I have had the opportunity to talk to him and pick his brain..My culture, I don't know if anyone has heard of Balut. Or my buddy, his culture eats monkey brains..Has anyone seen what a Monkfish looks like?- and they apparently taste extremely good...my point is, humans eat, that's what we do..

THANKS JENS!!!THE WORLD IS SO UNIVERSAL WHY WE KEEP SOMETHING WHEN WE DO OR DONT THERE IS ALWAYS SOMEONE THERE TO QUESTION SOMEONE ELSES REASONS .THESE FISH ARE FOR HARVESTING AND I DO CATCH MY FAIR SHARE AND I RELEASE 95% OF MY FISH WHETHER ITS TROUT BASS OR ETC.MAY BE SOME DAY MALLARD83 WE CAN HOOK UP AND FISH THEN YOU CAN GET TO KNOW ME AND UNDERSTAND WHY I MAKE THE CHOICES I DO.I FISH HARD AND WILL PRETTY MUCH GIVE YOU THE SHIRT OFF MY BACK OR THE LAST CORKIE THATS HOT.I DONT KNOW EVERYTHING AND DONT CLAIM TO KNOW EVERYTHING BUT IM LEARNING ALL THE TIME .THANKS FOR YOUR ALL YOUR OPINIONS .

Hey FISHENROB. I'm just curious how you foul hook so many fish? Usually when I fish i wait for the fish to bite my lure or bait before I set the hook. You always catch fish in the mouth this way. I also agree with mallard88 if its not bright you don't always have to keep it. Its nice to let them go so they can come back and produce more fish. That's the darkest steel head I've ever seen. Doesn't even look like one.

But you are right when you say that the hatchery ones are for harvest. I just was concerned about the foul hooking of the fish. Good report thank you for your info. Fish on!!!

Hey Jens,

Don't tell people I eat monkey brains, they're going to think I'm gross. Besides this isn't food network, it's a fishing forum. It's about sharing fishing experiences and maybe helping others who wants to learn. Lets get past that kindergarten mentality and grow up, who hasn't eatened their own booger even as an adult, just kidding. Let's respect other people with their posting, unless it's fake, only then we can rip on them. FISHINROB has always been willing to share everything he has or knows, and I really respect that. Thanks for sharing your post. Oh by the way, I love raw salmon and tuna, hmmm delicious.

Fishinrob is a great contributor to this site and I thank him for that. As to foul hooking, this report only mentions one foul hooked fish which was released. How many times have you seen someone keep a foul hooked fish? More than I care to remember...

I'll bet that fish tasted just fine.

FISHINROB took almost 11 hours to catch that fish. He is committed and that is why he catches, not foul hooking. Cast after cast even when his arm is hurting! These steelhead have come all the way from the ocean to spawn. They have done that. They are not dieing like salmon. They also are brighter looking when caught. After an hour or more dead, without ice, they get dark.. truefishermanC why did you join? Your first post was a rude comment. Please do not do this on this site. I have caught enough fish at different stages that I would also keep a fish such as Rob did. I have! They are just fine. Well, Actually they were salmon not steelhead that was the only difference..

Your right Toni that was rude and FISHINROB I do apologize. Thank you for the report. I should not have jumped the gun saying he was intentionally trying to foul hook fish without ever fishing with him. But there are people out there who do which is discouraging and that's cool that Rob is not one of them. Sorry again.

Everybody, could you please take a minute and grab your fishing regs. If you don't have them go on the links and you can find them there. Now, turn to page104 and 105, this is the fish i.d. section. Mark that page, now turn to page 40, this is where you i.d. a steelhead. Ok, now go into the river reports for the skookumchuck on 2/6 report. (pic. of fish and pic of pink worm) this seem to be the first fish that started this. Now go back to pg. 104, if you look at the Coho i.d., White Gum Line is under lined. Also, the jaws elongate. Now turn back to pg. 40 there is no mention of either for steelhead. I think that should clear up the confusion on that fish.

Now to this fish, since it is a fresher fish you can go to pg. 40, the tail should be looked at first, for spots covering the whole tail. 0n pg. 105 there is a close of a coho tail that has just a few scatered spots. Now onto the head, Remeber the coho get enlogated jaw, steelhead don't. This is tough do to the angle of the pic, female steelhead have a tiny head, just like in the drawing in the pic. If you "google" steelhead i.d. there are more pics and info. The upper jaw done does not extend beyond the eye and the are no teeth on the back of the tounge.

I hope that this helps any one who is unsure how to i.d. fish because today is the last day to keep coho and the game warden will probably be checkin tomorrow.

It's hard to ID a fish from a picture sometimes. Besides which, I seldom catch steelhead so who am I to say? I too applaud your efforts!

I'm trying to put in a report from yesterday on the Kalama. Says " Hmmmm.... it seems one of our pages has Gone Fishin'." and also says "*Note: The fact that this page is missing is most likely caused by our site transition. Just try the page again and everything should be fine." Has this happened to anyone else? How do I get my fishing report on here?

truefishermanC keep trying. We are getting an up grade tonight. If you have to copy it and paste it into word or word pad if you have a windows system just until it is working. Just keep checking
