Pretty much the same story as the week before. Sloughs are still frozen and the water is 39 degrees and low. They are still getting hit with snow also. Not sure when it will look like spring up there.

I have only fished pike a few times with that cold of water temps and it was many years ago, what seems to be the best
lure for those temps?

Kevinb,
I normally don't fish in water that cold. I have read that slow presentation baits like jerk baits and In line spinners that can be slowed way down is best for this time of year. I have also read that is the fishing is tough you should use smaller baits in cold water and that will get some reaction strikes. I also threw some spinner baits as well and bounced them off the bottom real slow.
chinookslammer,
I put in at old town and ran up as far as the usk plant and man was it cold. Still looks like winter up there. The west side of the river still has a foot of snow in places. I heard that on Sun they got 4 more inches of new snow too. The spawning season will be way late this year if this keeps up.

Probably wont be posting on this site anymore. Seems to be doing more harm then good so I am going to go back to not using report sites. All it is doing is raising my blood pressure.

$5 bet that you still check out the reports and lurk, LOL. Whatever level of participation is appreciated!

tollefs: Why do report sites raise your blood pressure?

none take. I would say this in general about reports - the more reports that get posted, the less the effect on fishing pressure for any one body of water. People get more choices to skim through. But I would never want someone to feel pressure in any way about posting or not posting fishing reports.

Aaron,
Take a look at the Musky forum and you will figure it out. Basically my own passion and personal preferrence get me in trouble some times. Nobody is perfect I guess.
