Well last night i got totally skunked even though the fish were hopping outa the water like i'd never seen. So we tried this morning. Now I was a bit worried, because unlike my dad's pole, mine was not rigged with 10 pound test line, but 6 pound instead. Within 5 minutes hooked a nice size one on a Pot O' Gold pink Humpy Special Spoon. Baught to shore, we fumbled with the net and she snapped the line. Dam. I only had one more spoon and it was a pink Dick Nite spoon. Fished it and on the first cast hooked another. A bit smaller, but again, snapped the line right at the shore. Dam! So we were out of spoons, and our corkies weren't doing crap. So my dad went out on a limb. I've caught little rainbow trout in here before, so just for the heck of it, he tied on a bluefox Flash Rainbow trout colored spinner. It took 'em a while, but one finally hit it. This time we worked the net properly, and beached him. He weighed in at 3.3 pounds. Now I know that's not huge, but hey, it's my dad and I's first salmon. I'm usually a CPR guy but these fish had pissed me off a bit much so we took him to the barbeque and got a nice fillet put of her. We'll be back when I re-spoon with 10 pound and get more pink spoons. We fished on the LEGAL side right next to the 277th bridge for all who's wondering.

First one I hooked was almost twice the size of my dad's, so it woulda been a good 5 pounder if we'd landed it. Second one was pretty small, looked like it was a little under the pounds, I would have let her back. Third one weighed on at 3.3 pounds. Good luck guys, don't loose faith in this river, it'll come thru for you someday. Tight Lines everyone!
