I fished early am 9/19 with my son and Kinghunter. We woke up to drizzling rain and some showers. We arrived to our spot by 6a. We fished until 11a. I did hook up with a smaller fish, but it came free. My son somehow foul hooked a small sculpin/bullead in the tail and I hooked a cutty. My son and I caught enough sticks to make a small clubhouse, that was sign to call it a day..The drive of not catching anything burned deep inside. I did enough "honey chores" and bouncing around the house, my honey finally said, "Ok honey, go get your big fish!!" I called up Kinghunter and we were at the river by 5p. KH, had a nice 10lb Coho already on shore, a good sign. An hour into fishing, I landed an 11lb hatchery(pic left) and hour later a dark 15lbr (released). We fished until dark and decided to hit it up again in the am..
9/20 I fished alongside Kinghunter with goin_postal showing up later. KH did land his pig, but it was native, so it was released, my guess would be a 14 to 15lbr a nice gorgeous chrome color to it. I caught a couple nice kings, nothing piggy. About an hour after Kinghunter left, and 10 minutes before football was starting, my rod tip slams down to the water and a pig takes me downriver. The guy below me wearing headphones didn't hear the call, "FISHON!" and kept casting barely missing my line several times when I was fighting my fish. I was getting some line back, but she decided to head upriver. I smirked over at goin_postal when he asked me if it was big. The fish got a second wind and headed about 25 yards upriver. I smartly loosened my drag and let my rod and line do some work while maintaining constant pressure. A nice fellow, helped me net my fish and take a picture. It measured 35 inches and weighed 19.25lbs. My biggest fish. My Patriots did lose this day, but I won. WOO HOO!!
