Went to Auburn Salmon Hatchery at dawn. Several other people there, who said they had received tip about silvers - probably from recent comments here by @snake7676. :-)

I kept my 2.5 ft leader from yesterday and switched to a size 1 chartreuse DN spoon. Easily caught 5 pinks (4 hens, 1 male - all in the mouth) within an hour but no silvers. Couldn't stay to find out if the silvers were indeed there but just hiding. Even if they were, I have a feeling that they've already turned given how close they are from the hatchery. Great place to bring kids to check out spawning salmon but not great for fishing (so easy, it's borderline cheating), IMHO.

Wow right on so you found the green fish hatch. my kids love it there this time of year! at any rate if your looking to get into some silvers try behind the best western down in takwilla area off of I-405 thats kinda of a cool place to fish (tide waters) . You need waders there to.

Thx for the tip, Snake. I'll definitely check out the Best Western in Tukwilla - probably this weekend. I'm also thinking about fishing the spot off the big parking lot near S 102nd St bridge as well as the S 112th St bridge since both are closer to Puget Sound than the other popular places down river in Kent and Auburn. I'm hoping to find fresher silvers there.
