Tried the Willapa after reports that there were lots of Chinook to be caught. I wanted my daughters to get a chance to pull in some big fish instead of dinky trout.
Tried Corky and Yarn for a while, then switched to Egg Sacks off the bottom and from bobbers. not a bite.
Location was 1/2 a mile downstream from the Hatchery.
Saw lots of fish in the pool we were fishing, but nothing would bite. There were tons of dead Chinook in the river and on the bank.
Only thing I got for my efforts was a sopping wet 5 year daughter that slipped in the river. She was a good sport about it though.
