Fly Fished the North Ft Lewis side of American Lake from a float tube, started at 0800 near the camp grounds and worked my way around to Ft Lewis Recreation dock with a Prince Nymph on slow sink line with no success. Changed over to a weighted Black Bugger and work my way back to the camp grounds still no luck, Changed over at 1000 to a float line and a grey Adams and started to work the surface after seeing some movement, had one hookup and break-off (Buck Fever) but could see much more movement as the day progressed. Left the lake at 1300 with just a fish story. Lake surface temp was 52 degrees; still a little cold will try again this weekend and hope the fish are up and moving before me.
