i would give it a 3 because thats what you get every time your on the water. when i got off work it was snowing and i had a feeling it was gonna be good day to hit the river so i went with my plans on fishing after work and hit the hatchery. as i was walking down saw about 10 or 12 fish on the bank. i went to the end to get out of the shoulder to shoulder battles between the top and middle guys. i threw a coorkie and worm for a little bit then switched back to a bobber and jig and after a little while longer went back to the worm. im new to the coorkie fishing so im still trying to figure out a bite from rocks but im getting better. i noticed after one of my catst my worm was pulled down and i had teeth marks on it. darn it shoulda had a fish but guess i got tomorrow. when i broke off on some line in the water heavier than my 8 pound test i left cause my fingers were way way way to cold to re tie. on my way out i grabbed a guys fish for him, felt good about my self for helping a fella out. im gonna go up tomorrow after work around 330 and if i get thursday off im going to fish in the morning then heading up to everett. anyone know of any fishing with in about 15-20 minutes in the snohomish area?

Editor's Note: I would give every fishing trip a "3" as well, but that would mess up the point of the rating system, which is to indicate how the fishing was. However, in the case of steelhead I think if I saw a dozen fish on the bank I would say the fishing was pretty good, even if I didn't catch any! Mike

Nice report dylanE. I think alot of people have the same problem with drifting corky and yarn. I still have a problem, I fish in the same spot as people catching fish, but it seems I can't catch even a bite. I'm thinking some of those bouncing bottom feeling might be an actual bite, but I have caught some 5" fish that literally took several quick rapid jerk and I felt it thinking it's a big one, but for some reason I can't feel the bigger fish bitting, go figure. I think maybe I need a more sensitive tip rod, I don't know. You will need to share some of your tips with me and the rest of the family members here.

Did you say snow? I'll still make it there saturday. Good luck up north, there are a bunch of guys up that way that will point you in that direction.. go to the forum and I am sure someone will put you on some fish.

king i know what you mean i use to be a bass fisherman and everytime i would get a big hit i would think big fish but thats rarely ever true usually the little fish hit hard and the big one very soft. all the winter fish me and my buddies have got this year have hit very soft which is sorta unusual. jens i went up yesterday and it was a mad house with tons of people and lots and lots of rain and most the snow was gone i think the river is gonna blow out in about a week for a couple days then after that it should be good fishing again but i think im gonna go to the east fork and the white salmon.
