Headed down to the Mounts Road Bridge to scout for an early new years trip tomorrow morning. A few fish were caught while I was there as well as a few on stringers. All fairly bright fish. Most people were using green corkies and green yarn, a few were being caught on pink, and about 2-3ft of leader. This area is close to my house, but I am unsure if you need a permit to fish here as it is on fort lewis property. I know that you have to have a sticker on your car window, but if I park on the road, can I fish here as long as I have a valid washington fishing license and catch record card? Any information would be helpful...Thanks!!!!

If you are fishing within the boundaries of Ft. Lewis you either have to have a valid Military ID or a Visitors Pass. The Visitor's Pass is relatively easy to obtain and you can apply on line. If memory serves, they are good for 1 year. Hope this helps.

Tyler B you can go to the Main gate exit with your state license and all automobile documents and get a visitors pass, if you don t have a military ID or DOD ID get a military friend to go with you to fish, the rules are allot tighter since 9/11 good luck
